What Makes Touch Controls Actually Feel Good
Touch controls are where a lot of otherwise great mobile games fall apart. Fingers cover the screen, there's no physical feedback, and small targets are a nightmare. The games that get it right share a few habits.
The best ones give you options. A tilt scheme and a button scheme, like Neon Drift League offers, means everyone can find something comfortable. Forcing one control style is a fast way to lose players.
Big, forgiving touch zones matter more than people think. Puzzle of Petals nails this — you rarely misfire because the targets are generous. Compare that to games with tiny buttons crammed in the corners.
My rule of thumb: if I can play comfortably one-handed on a tram without misclicking, the controls are good. If I need both hands and full concentration just to aim, that's a design problem, not a me problem.
